Sri Lanka’s first pain unit was declared open in Colombo recently by a former consultant at UK’s National Health Service. The London Pain Management Center will offer physiotherapy services meeting international standards, and residential facilities for overseas and outstation patients. Armed forces personnel and local sportsmen and sportswomen from less privileged backgrounds will be treated free of charge.
