Dr. Perera is a duly qualified and experienced nutrition specialist and an independent researcher. She received her doctorate in Human Nutrition from the University of London and she is an alumnus of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK. She obtained her MSc. in Foods, Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of Bombay and her BSc. in Human Nutrition form the University of Allahabad, India. She also holds a P.G. Diploma in Public Health & Policy from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK. She has many decades of experience in food, nutrition, consumer rights, ecological agriculture and social justice in the food chain.
